Mutiny’s Move from Boxpac to Granary
Share
Salt Lake’s dance scene has never needed everything to look polished. Sometimes the room, the people, and the music are enough. That was part of the appeal of Mutiny Music Collective’s Boxpac Project: a warehouse space that felt like it belonged to the nights happening inside it.
Boxpac’s final show was May 30, 2026. Mutiny’s first Granary Open Air show followed on June 19 with Walker & Royce, VNSSA, Greg 99, and Obayashi. A warehouse closing can feel like the end of something, but this move looks more like a new chapter for the same community.
The difference is obvious: open sky, a new stage, and shade structures instead of familiar warehouse walls. It changes the scale of a night out, but it doesn’t have to change why people show up. The first photos from Granary already show a packed crowd under those bright canopies.
I like that Salt Lake has room for both kinds of nights. Boxpac had its own identity, and nobody needs to pretend an outdoor venue can recreate it exactly. Granary gives Mutiny a chance to build something different: more space to move, summer air, and a new backdrop for a scene that keeps growing.
For me, that’s the story here. The address changed. The reason we go — the music and the people around it — did not.
